Thea’s career in the international sports and entertainment industry spans over 25 years, graduating from Ohio University with a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Marketing. She has a proven track record in creating, producing, commercialising and managing a diverse portfolio of events - from the Commonwealth Games and motor sports (IndyCar and V8 Supercars), to global touring exhibitions, theatre shows and concert spectaculars.
Thea is the Co-Founding Director of International Entertainment Consulting (IEC), a global Australian-based entertainment company responsible for originating and producing global projects specializing in the exhibition space, recently; The Rolling Stones Exhibition; Real Madrid World of Football Experience and Nelson Mandela My Life: The Official Exhibition – all projects created in close collaboration with the rights holders. IEC was also the promoter of The Rolling Stones 14 on Fire Tour in Australia with AEG Live.
With her diverse experience, Thea offers strong commercial acumen having promoted award winning events from across the globe selling in excess of 25 million tickets. She is a highly skilled event marketeer and communications strategist, specifically in digital marketing, brand origination and development, PR, content creation, ticket sales strategy and social media.
Thea has also produced a variety of live televised entertainment, such as Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games Flag Handover Ceremony for the Gold Coast and multiple Opening Ceremonies for the Arafura Games, an event held in partnership with the Oceania and Australian Paralympic Committee. In 2011, she was a key member of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Bid Committee, producing and leading the winning bid presentations at the Commonwealth Games General Assembly, in St Kitts. In 2017, Thea was the International Women’s Day recipient of the Entrepreneurial Leadership Award in recognition of her creative leadership talent.
Thea has managed project teams globally, from London and New York to Madrid and Johannesburg. Her business ventures have seen her working with an eclectic group of people, cultures and organisations, from esteemed London Museums to the Real Madrid Football Club, The Rolling Stones, Nelson Mandela’s Foundation to Australian State Governments.
Thea’s family has a very proud and distinguished history being deeply involved in Australian motor sport, and she looks forward to carrying on that tradition, bringing her passion for motor sport to the CAMS Board.
